okay so I still have some catching up to do that include some fun pictures of Danny being bored, but right now I need some advice from all of you experienced parents out there.
Will is on a major separation anxiety kick right now. We've left him a few times and he was mostly okay, but now not so much. (okay well I guess the first time he cried himself to sleep, and last time he was screaming so hard in their car that other people in the ward know about it)
Anyways, so he's old enough to start nursery. We've been taking him in the last month or so to get used to it and to get to know everyone. He loves being in there. When I asked him after sacrament if he wanted to go find the toys he started clapping. Yesterday was the first day he was official and could thus be left alone. Danny dropped him off and left pretty quick. I guess he was totally content for about 5 min. when someone else walked it and he couldn't find us. Then, he freaked! He cried so much that he threw up all over the floor! We have great "grandparent" type nursery leaders that can calm any other kid down in about 5 seconds.
When I went in he calmed down pretty quick, but was super clingy the rest of the day.
So what should I do? Obviously, he can't throw up every week, but he's totally fine when we're there and totally not fine when we're not no medium at all.

Just keep talking to him, let him know when you're leaving. It will get easier as he gets to practice more. Try to let him be the last kid to go into nursery so there are fewer disruptions. Find a toy that he can be connected to?
ReplyDeleteOh man! I wish I knew. That makes us nervous for Jack in a couple of months, he's always been a little clingy, but I was hoping he'd make the transition...Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCome to find out Will had the stomach flu Monday so here's to hoping it was due to that :)
